Pricing & insurance
I don't accept insurance. Let's talk about why.
I believe insurance companies desire their own profit over your best interests and mine. I want affordable mental health care to be accessible for everyone, without the need to justify that care with diagnosis and insurance company-directed treatment planning.
Insurance companies approach mental health care and wellness the same way they approach healthcare…
They identify problems and determine whether or not treatment is necessary. Insurance companies also profit when their customers don't utilize their benefits. Because of this, insurance companies exert a lot of control over mental health treatment, requiring DSM diagnoses and limiting the terms, frequency, and duration of treatment. I believe it is unjust to view mental health treatment through a lens of pathology, and I don't want anyone but you determining whether or not your treatment is necessary.
I believe that you are the only person who can identify your needs, and that seeking support does not indicate a problem inside of you, but rather that you have a healthy impulse to Be More Well. Insurance wants to cover what's sick and broken, but I see our mental health care as akin to a sunflower bending to seek more light. I commend your choice to feel better, and to strengthen your relationships, and I want that choice to be unburdened by the medical model that wants to control your therapeutic support. I want us to be free to meet your needs.
That said, I am committed to providing affordable and accessible care to all. That's why, at Threaded Wellness, we offer a variety of ways to access mental health care. You can assess the different price points and determine what works best for your care. I am also happy to provide you with a Superbill, in order to submit therapy sessions for out-of-network coverage.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you want to continue this conversation. I sincerely want you to get the help you're seeking, and I want to keep talking about how to make that work for you.
So what are your options?
-
Superbill
If you're interested in seeking reimbursement from your insurance company for our work in therapy, we can prepare a superbill for you to submit out-of-network.
-
Self-pay or HSA/FSA
You can also self-pay out of pocket or use HSA/FSA funds to cover the costs of therapy. You might decide to use this option as you address more acute concerns, then shift to lower-priced options like group therapy, workshops, or skill-based classes.
-
Workshops and groups
Maybe your needs are best suited to one of our lower-cost options like parenting workshops, mindfulness classes, or group counseling and therapy.
Still working out what you can manage?
Book a free consultationCincinnati families are fortunate to have Megan's expertise in our community. Her clinical skills are changing lives. With honesty and compassion, she guides her clients step by step through the messy and confusing moments, helping them see challenges from a new perspective. As a doula and group facilitator in the postpartum space, I am often asked for referrals to therapists. Megan is always at the top of my list, especially for those navigating perinatal trauma, striving for equitable and fulfilling parenting partnerships, or working to heal from their own experiences with parents and caregivers.
I am forever grateful for the support and care I receive from Megan. We initially started working together during the absolute hardest time of my life, deeply struggling with postpartum OCD. I was completely lost with little faith that things were ever going to get better. Our sessions gave me hope. Through her empathy, expertise and dedication, she provided me with practical, effective tools that helped me regain control of my life. Years later, I still rely on those tools to guide me through challenging times.
After my trauma workshop with Megan, I have noticed a marked improvement in my ability to reflect on my birth experience and introduction to motherhood. For the first time since my son was born, I am able to look at photos and videos of him as a newborn and not feel sadness or heartbreak. I am now able to look at my experience and feel strong.
